Locally Owned Since 1915
Lake Region Bank started as a community bank on January 12, 1915, when it was incorporated as Farmers State Bank in New London by 40 shareholders. In the 1950s, Korean War vet Paul Vollan started his career in banking. In 1970, he purchased Farmers State Bank. Over the next decade, he opened the Sunburg and Willmar branches and grew the banks’ reputation as the community’s premier financial institution. When Paul partially retired, his son Clark took the reins as president of the bank. In 2003, the bank changed its name to Lake Region Bank. Today we maintain three locations and employ more than 30 of your neighbors.
Generations of Customers
As we’ve become multigenerational, so have our customers. We have many customers who have banked with us for decades. They started as young adults, then brought on their spouses, children, grandchildren, and extended family.
