Mike, what do you do at Lake Region Bank?

I joined the Lake Region Bank commercial lending team this March. I previously worked as a certified general real estate appraiser for 24 years, including several in an office that shared a building with Lake Region Bank. As an appraiser, I traveled all over west-central Minnesota, covering approximately 10 counties.

What products or services do you enjoy working on most with customers?

I enjoy working with a wide variety of customers on their capital needs, from entrepreneurs who want to start their own businesses to established businesses that are looking to buy or grow. I’ve enjoyed getting to know Lake Region Bank’s long-term customers over the last few months.

What general advice do you have for commercial lending customers?

There are five important keys to success for any business owner: capacity, collateral, capital, conditions, and character. These concepts will help make a business owner the best they can be.

When you’re not working, what do you do?

My family and I live in Willmar. My wife Mindi and I have three sons. We also have two dogs. I’m the president of the Willmar Baseball Association and a board member of the 100 Yard Club as well as the Willmar Public Schools Foundation.

As you can tell, the Fagerlies enjoy their sports! We’re actively involved in baseball, football, wrestling, and basketball. When we’re not at a game or practice, you can find me and my family up at the lake, hunting, fishing, camping, or just enjoying the outdoors.
