I give Lake Region Bank and the Good Neighbor Club 10 our of 10! From the plays, musicals, mystery day trip, to the State Fair and Minnesota zoo! I've also been on trips to 5 different states and am looking forward to many more. Can't wait to see where the next adventure will take me!

For the avid traveler, the Good Neighbor Club is a dream come true. Since joining the G.N.C. fifteen years ago, I have been given the opportunity to visit fabulous destinations in the U.S. and abroad, experiencing a variety of cultural traditions and gaining first hand knowledge of famous landmarks, historical sites, and authentic cuisines. The best part is that I haven't had to do any of the research or planning! Betty Marthaler, G.N.C. Director, does a stellar job of organizing and offering spectacular trip opportunities for G.N.C. members. From whale-watching in Hawaii to cruising the fjords of Norway or hearing the calving of glaciers in Alaska, the opportunities are endless. Members simply sign up for a trip, pack their bags, and depart on unforgettable adventures with travel companions who often become some of their closest friends...and that is the frosting on the cake.

Through the good neighbor club I've met so many wonderful people. Betty does a great job of spoiling us! Gives me a chance to attend a variety of events without the hassle of driving and worrying about minor details, be it the many plays I've attended or my trip to Italy with her! I especially enjoy her choice of restaurants and socializing before events.

My favorite memory of the Good Neighbor Club was when my wife signed us up for a New England/Canadian cruise in 2006. I was fishing in Canada at a remote camp with limited communications. Betty Marthaler, G.N.C. Director, contacted my wife to say she had two places to fill on the 12-day cruise out of New York, and needed an answer that day. Unable to contact me, my wife made the executive decision to commit to the trip. A few days later, I was able to contact her and she said, "I don't know if you are going to like what I did." I thought that she had smashed up the car or was injured in some way. She then told me she had signed us up for a cruise. I said, "Good for you!" That was the start of at least twenty trips with the G.N.C. We have been on ocean cruises, river cruises, European land tours, domestic trips, bus trips, plays in Minneapolis, and our wonderful annual trip to Palm Springs. We enjoy the mix of people who join us on these trips, and have made lasting friendships traveling with the G.N.C.

Our first trip with the Good Neighbor Club was in 2008. Since then, we have enjoyed 12 more tours with the God Neighbor Club and are attempting the 13th in 2022 which was originally scheduled in 2020. The most memorable trips we’ve taken are Oberammergau Passion Play in 2010, Mekong River Cruise, Machu Pichu/ Galapagos Islands, Japan/ South Korea and South Africa/Zimbabwe. We appreciate the transportation provided to and from the airport and Betty’s expert attention to detail as well as her willingness to help when your travel card doesn’t work 😊 Another plus is the number of good friends we’ve made through our travels with the GNC club.

We (Jack and I) joined GNC when it was first getting started. I believe we were about the 3rd members of the club, but we didn’t travel for a long time--children and family and so on. Since then we have traveled with Betty on many short trips, long trips ect, ect--too many to count them all. I consider Betty Marthaler irreplaceable. With anyone who has worked with her, she is kind, informed and treats everyone with the same respect and kindness.

We began our travel adventures with Good Neighbor Club in 2014. It was a new experience for us to travel with a group, we found it to be a wonderful opportunity. The steps to travel with GOOD NEIGHBOR CLUB are easy. You receive a newsletter quarterly that explains the opportunities for travel and day trips. You are invited to a travel show that gives you an overview of the itinerary for your travel experience, then you write a check and everything is taken care of for all the planning. Next step you are responsible for is packing your luggage, having appropriate documents, and being on time at appointed meeting place. Betty Marthaler makes travel easy, enjoyable, and stress-free. We have taken 12 trips with GOOD NEIGHBOR CLUB, some international and some in the states, having two more trips planned in the future. We have never been disappointed in the itineraries or the accommodations. One of the best parts of traveling with GOOD NEIGHBOR CLUB is the people you meet and making lasting friendships with fellow travelers. The hardest part of traveling with the GOOD NEIGHBOR CLUB is coming home, saying goodbye to traveling companions and unpacking the luggage! The best part is the lasting memories of your adventure and looking forward to the next travel opportunity. We appreciate Lake Region Bank for making the Good Neighbor Club available to us. Traveling has always been part of our retirement plan, but as we all know, the years go flying by too fast, and sometimes we spend more time planning a vacation than we do on the vacation! Our vacation planning changed when Pam Haverly of Lake Region Bank suggested that we explore what the Good Neighbor Club (GNC) had to offer. We are so glad that Pam recommended it, as the GNC has simplified planning a vacation. All we have to do is choose the vacation location, write the check, sit back, and enjoy! At that point, Betty takes over with her amazing planning and attention to each and every detail. She truly takes care of everything from organizing a convenient bus location for pickup, luggage service, airport(s) transfers, hotel accommodations, activities, dining experiences, and so much more. As an added bonus, we have made many new friends on our trips, and now enjoy the experience together. We will continue to travel with GNC. Thank you to Betty and her team for making our travel dreams come true.

We have traveled with the Good Neighbor Club several times to international destinations. Each and every trip was worry free. Betty, along with Nicole, help us to make sure that every detail is attended to before we leave. While away we experienced a stress free vacation. We are so very well taken care of. I can't think of a more relaxing way to travel. Because of the Good Neighbor Club we have experienced many fascinating locations, have met many wonderful people, and have enjoyed a number of very well planned trips abroad.

We have been very fortunate to have traveled with Betty and the Good Neighbor Club. All of the travel arrangements, down to the last detail, are carefully planned so that we can totally enjoy each experience. We are looking forward to many more fun trips thanks to Betty and the Good Neighbor Club.
