Our Canadian Rockies trip will be brought alive as Chris with Cruises and Tours will give us all the highlights! We fly out of Vancouver, British Columbia where we will begin a sightseeing tour to discover this delightful city. We will spend two nights at the Inn at the Quay. Thursday, we begin with a morning ferry to Victoria, British Columbia where we will visit the magnificent Butchart Gardens. There will be time for lunch—shopping before we head back on our ferry to Vancouver.
Friday, we board our train for the most spectacular train trip in the world, onboard the Rocky Mountaineer! On our all-day rail tour, we will witness the Pacific Coastal Mountain Range—and meander along the natural part of the Thompson River and alongside the impressive Fraser Canyon. We will overnight in Kamloops; the heart of British Columbia’s interior. On our second day on the train, we will continue eastward to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the providence of Alberta. Our rail journey ends in the resort town of Banff, Alberta. Here we will check into the Hotel Canoe and Suites for the next four nights.
Our highlight on Sunday will be on our Ice Explorer all-terrain vehicles that will take us to the Athabasca Glacier; Monday we will head north through Banff National Park. Where we will cross the Continental Divide at Kicking Horse Tunnels; the natural bridge and the pristine Emerald Lake. After lunch at the lodge of the Ten Peaks we will ride the Lake Louise Gondola to the top of the Rockies! Tuesday we will have a sightseeing tour of Banff National Park. Also, some free time for those who might want to shop. Wednesday, we take in our last views of the gorgeous Canadian Rockies as we make our way to Calgary for our flight home.
